The recent opening to the public visiting the archaeological site of Rio Copalita Bocana only 10 kilometers from the Bays of Huatulco is also the beginning of a new stage of research and restoration of old buildings, including the Templo Mayor, whose work is expected to generate new data on the hierarchy that dominated the pre-Hispanic city.
Copalita archaeological remains dating back 900 A. C. to 1000 AD, as the ball game, located in the central portion of the property, as well as a building to the south. A stone popularly known as "sacrifice" is on the brink of the cliff with a spectacular view overlooking the coast. All these points, together with other remains of terraces, platforms, structures and rocks are diverse cultural attractions.
